At the heart of our mission in the Department of Library and Information Science at Jundishapur University of Ahvaz is a commitment to research that tackles real-world challenges. Our dynamic research group is at the forefront of exploring three critical, interconnected fields: the factors that influence how people understand and use health information, the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice across professions, and the quantitative study of research itself through scientometrics.

Empowering Individuals Through Health Literacy: We conduct groundbreaking studies aimed at empowering students, patients, and the broader community. Our goal is to provide them with the critical skills needed to effectively find, evaluate, and use reliable health information, enabling them to make informed decisions about their well-being.

Advancing Evidence-Based Practice: We actively investigate methods to seamlessly integrate robust scientific evidence into the daily routines of healthcare, management, and education. Our work supports the development of frameworks and tools that help professionals base their decisions on the best available research, ultimately improving outcomes and efficiency.

Mapping the Landscape of Science: Through our Scientometrics Research Unit, we employ advanced data analysis to map the structure and evolution of scientific fields. We analyze scholarly publications, patents, and research trends to identify emerging topics, measure impact, and inform science policy, providing a data-driven compass for the future of research.

Transforming Medical Education with Evidence: In an innovative study, we are investigating the impact of integrating a clinical librarian into medical training. This research examines how concise, evidence-based summaries presented during morning reports directly enhance the knowledge and clinical decision-making skills of our medical residents—a cutting-edge approach to building a stronger foundation for the next generation of doctors.
