Research & Projects

1.Enhancing Patient Safety and Quality of Care in Anesthesia:

Investigating new anesthesia protocols to reduce post-operative complications (e.g., PONV, delirium, acute pain).

  • Evaluating novel methods for monitoring depth of anesthesia (such as BIS) and their impact on improving patient outcomes
  • Research on difficult airway management and comparing new techniques and equipment.
  • Studying optimal strategies for blood management and reducing intraoperative bleeding(Patient Blood Management)

.2 Anesthesia for Special Populations and Specialty Surgeries:

  • Clinical research in pediatric anesthesia, geriatric anesthesia, and patients with complex comorbidities
  • Studying anesthesia methods for cardiac, neurosurgical, trauma, and transplant surgeries
  • Investigating anesthetic challenges in outpatient surgeries and developing care models for safe discharge

.3 Acute and Chronic Pain Management:

  • Designing and evaluating new pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods for post-operative pain control
  • Research on the role of anesthesiologists/anesthesia technicians in Pain Clinics
  • Investigating the effectiveness of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques in reducing complications and length of hospital stay

.4  Anesthetic Pharmacology and Applied Pharmacotherapy:

  • Research on the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of new anesthetic drugs
  • Studying drug interactions in patients under anesthesia and developing safe protocols
  • Research on methods to reduce opioid consumption during and after surgery and their substitution with drugs with fewer side effects

.5 Novel Technologies in Anesthesia:

  • Evaluating the application and effectiveness of simulation systems in training and assessing anesthesia skills
  • Research on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in monitoring systems to predict adverse events during anesthesia
  • Investigating the role of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in reducing preoperative patient anxiety and
  •  assisting educational processes

.6 Education, Assessment, and Professional Ethics in Anesthesia:

  • Designing and validating novel methods for teaching clinical and non-technical skills (e.g., teamwork, communication)
  • Research on professional burnout and resilience among anesthesiologists/anesthesia technicians

Studying ethical challenges in the field of anesthesiology and improving patient satisfaction

Career Opportunities:

Key Career Paths for Anesthesia Technologists:

Graduates of this program are qualified to work in a wide range of healthcare settings

                1.Hospitals and Medical Centers:

    • Operating Rooms: The core of the profession, where you will be a vital member of the surgical team, responsible for anesthesia administration, monitoring patient vital signs, and managing recovery (post-anesthesia care)
    • Intensive Care Units (ICUs, CCUs):
Providing specialized care for critically ill patients and managing life-support systems
    • Emergency Departments:
    • Participating in resuscitation teams and managing airways in critical situations
    • Interventional Departments (e.g., Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy, MRI):
    •  Providing sedation and anesthesia services outside the main operating room
    •  2.Specialized and Superspecialty Centers:
    • Specialized hospitals for cardiology, oncology (cancer), pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, and trauma & burns,
    •  all of which require specific anesthesia technology skills
    • 3.Outpatient Surgery Centers and Clinics:
    • With the growth of day-case surgeries, numerous opportunities exist in these centers to provide short-term
    •  sedation and anesthesia services
    • 4.Research and Educational Institutions:
    • Teaching at faculties of medical sciences as an Anesthesia Technology instructor (after gaining sufficient
    •  experience)
    • 5. Emergency Medical Services (Pre-hospital Care):

Working with mobile medical teams to manage airways and provide advanced care to victims at the scene of an                                         accident
