As a branch of medical science, it encompasses the collection, storage, processing, retrieval, and exchange of health-related data through computer hardware and software. This discipline enhances communication across healthcare domains, supports informed decision-making, and facilitates the seamless exchange of medical knowledge.
Mission
The main mission of the Health Information Technology department is to train specialized and experienced personnel who can work in the management of health information technology in medical centers, including data collection and analysis, organization, classification, storage, and retrieval of information, and also provide consulting in the design of clinical software systems. They can also analyze health indicators and collaborate with IT engineers in the design and implementation of health care information systems.
Vision
The Health Information Technology department intends to take steps toward training skilled and efficient professionals by strengthening scientific, hardware, and software infrastructures and provide necessary and practical training to students.
Furthermore, by utilizing a research platform, it aims to connect modern information technologies with the health and clinical sector, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of the academic and research standing of the faculty.
